CERT.br: Online fraud complaints up 53% in 2006

There were 41,776 complaints of internet fraud compared to 27,300 in 2005, CERT.br analyst Klaus Steding-Jessen said in a statement.
In all CERT.br received a total of 197,000 complaints related to the internet last year, up 191% compared to 68,000 in 2005. CERT.br highlighted complaints about internet worms in particular.
CERT.br is the Brazilian computer emergency response team, sponsored by the Brazilian internet steering committee.
The group is responsible for receiving, reviewing and responding to computer security incident reports.
